Overtime Calculator
You set the standard hours, the hours actually worked, the base rate, and the multiplier. Hours above the standard are paid at multiplier × base. Hours up to the standard are paid at the base rate. This is not a reading of any country’s labour law.
Calculator
How the number is produced
Overtime hours = max(0, actual − standard). Pay = min(actual, standard) × rate + overtime hours × rate × multiplier.
Worked example
Standard 40, actual 45, rate €20, multiplier 1.5. Base pay is 40 × 20 = €800. Overtime is 5 × 20 × 1.5 = €150. Total €950.
When this is useful
You want a quick check of a timesheet before you rely on a payroll system, using the multiplier in the contract rather than a guess about the statute.
Limits
Daily overtime thresholds, night premiums, averaging periods, and time off in lieu are not modelled. The law where you work may differ.
More on the assumptions is on how the calculators work.
Questions
Do you apply my local overtime law?
No. Type the multiplier your contract or payroll actually uses.
