This Privacy Policy explains how GetToWork.online ("GetToWork", "we", "us") handles information when you use our website and productivity tools.
What GetToWork is
GetToWork.online is a workday productivity site. It includes a focus timer, tasks, notes, planning helpers, optional registered accounts with server sync, history and project views for signed-in users, public utility tools, guides, templates, and interactive resources.
You can use the core dashboard as a guest without creating an account. Guest productivity data stays in your browser unless you register and choose to import it.
Local browser storage
Guest productivity data is stored locally in your browser (for example via localStorage). This may include:
- the task you are working on
- tasks and notes
- timer information and preferences
- planning text and work activity for the day
- settings such as sound, theme, and timer lengths
- locally archived prior days on this device
Clearing your browser data, site data, or cookies for GetToWork.online may remove locally stored information. We do not automatically receive a copy of guest local data unless you import it into an account.
Registered account data
If you create an account, we store account details needed to run the service. That typically includes your name, email address, password hash, plan status, and related account metadata.
We use this information to authenticate you, provide sync and account features, and communicate about the service when needed.
Server productivity data
When you use GetToWork while signed in, we may store productivity data on our servers so it can sync across sessions and devices. Depending on what you use, this can include settings, work days, tasks, notes, planning text, activity, Pomodoro session records, projects, and related summaries.
If you import guest data from a browser into your account, that imported productivity data is stored under your account according to our import and sync process.
Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies or similar technologies so the website can work, keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure usage, or support advertising where allowed.
Session and security cookies may be required for login and basic site operation. Advertising and non-essential cookies are handled according to applicable consent rules.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may use Google AdSense to display advertising on GetToWork.online for guests and free signed-in users. Pro accounts are intended not to show ads when Pro is active.
Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, personalize, and measure ads. Their use of information is covered by their own policies.
Advertising cookies and consent
Where consent is required by law, non-essential advertising cookies should only be used after appropriate consent choices are given.
When Google advertising is active, consent choices for Google ads are presented through Google's consent messaging / CMP tools as configured for this site in Google AdSense. Those tools let you accept or refuse non-essential advertising cookies according to the choices shown. GetToWork does not run a separate third-party consent product beyond that Google advertising integration.
Analytics
GetToWork uses first-party, privacy-conscious product analytics to understand aggregate usage. Examples include whether the dashboard is opened, a timer is started, a Pomodoro or task is completed, a tool is opened, an account is created, or a soft product / discovery link is clicked on a public page.
These analytics store aggregate event counts and short allowlisted dimensions (for example a tool slug or destination label such as dashboard). They do not record the text of your notes or tasks, keystrokes, mouse movements, screenshots, or other invasive behavioral monitoring. We do not use this data to build employee surveillance products. We do not use Google Analytics or similar third-party behavioral analytics products on the product surfaces described here.
We do not sell personal information
We do not sell users' personal information.
Payments (Stripe)
If paid plans are offered and Stripe is configured, Stripe may process payment information needed to complete a subscription. Stripe handles card data under its own terms. GetToWork does not currently process payments through Stripe unless Stripe keys and prices are configured for the live environment.
Third-party services
We use third-party services to run the website. Examples may include hosting providers, advertising partners such as Google, email infrastructure if used, and payment providers when billing is configured. Those services process information only as needed to provide their service to us, and under their own terms and privacy practices.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the website and any information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- You can clear local browser or site data for GetToWork.online to remove locally stored productivity information.
- You can control cookies through your browser settings.
- Where Google CMP / consent tools are shown, you can accept or refuse non-essential cookies according to the choices provided.
- If you have an account, you can manage account access through login and logout, and manage password, export, and deletion from the Account page.
- Signed-in users can delete their account and server-side productivity data from the Account page (password confirmation required). Browser-local guest data is not deleted automatically. You may also contact us using the Contact page if you need help with an account request, subject to legal retention needs.
Children
GetToWork.online is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for the purpose of creating profiles about them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as GetToWork develops. When we make changes, we will update the effective date on this page. Continued use of the website after an update means you should review the revised policy.
