How our calculators work
Each calculator on GetToWork.online runs a fixed formula in your browser. The same inputs produce the same result. A language model does not calculate the number.
What you can see
The formula is written on the tool page, under the result. A worked example uses round figures so you can repeat the arithmetic yourself. If the page and the result disagree, the page is wrong and should be reported.
What stays on your device
Salary, rate, hours, and dates are used to update the result on the page. Those values are not posted to GetToWork as form data, and they are not attached to analytics events. Opening the page can still appear in ordinary server logs, the same way any other page request does. The log line is the address, not the salary you typed.
Gross figures and estimates
Pay calculators are gross. They do not apply income tax, social contributions, pension, or benefits. Freelance calculators treat a tax reserve as a percent of revenue you choose. They are not a tax return. Meeting costs, project prices, and utilisation figures are planning estimates. Labour rules and statutory interest differ by employer and country, so those rates are inputs, not built-in law.
Time zones
Overlap and meeting windows use the IANA time zone you select and the date you type. Offsets are not stored as a fixed number of hours, so daylight-saving changes follow that zone's rules for the date.
Currency
The currency control labels the result. It does not convert between currencies. Yen is shown without cents. Other listed currencies use two decimal places.
Tests
The formulas have automated tests for ordinary values, zeros, decimals, large numbers, empty inputs, overnight shifts, and a winter and summer time-zone offset. A checklist for human review of each tool lives with the project. A passing test is not a promise that your employment contract works the same way.
