Pomodoro Calculator

This is not a timer. It adds the focus blocks and the breaks between them, and it tells you the clock time if you started now. There is no break after the last session. A long break replaces a short break on the interval you set.

Calculator

How the number is produced

Gaps = sessions − 1. Long breaks = floor(gaps ÷ interval). Short breaks = gaps − long breaks. Focused minutes = sessions × focus length. Break minutes = short breaks × short length + long breaks × long length.

Worked example

4 sessions of 25 minutes, 5-minute short breaks, a 15-minute long break every 4 sessions. Gaps = 3, all short, because the long break would come after session 4, and you have stopped. Focused time 100 minutes. Breaks 15 minutes. Elapsed 1 hour 55 minutes.

When this is useful

You promised a block of “a few pomodoros” and need the real elapsed time before you book the next call.

Limits

It does not run in the background. It does not know if you skip a break. The finish time uses your device clock at the moment the result is drawn.

More on the assumptions is on how the calculators work.

Questions

Where is the start button?

There is not one. A timer is a different product. This page only adds the minutes.
