Project Price Calculator
A fixed price needs a labour estimate, a buffer for the hours you will discover later, the expenses you will pay, and an optional margin. This page builds that stack in one order and shows each line.
Calculator
How the number is produced
Labour = hours × hourly rate. Contingency = labour × contingency percent. Subtotal = labour + contingency + expenses. Price = subtotal × (1 + margin).
Worked example
10 hours at €100, 10% contingency, €50 expenses, no margin. Labour €1,000. Contingency €100. Price €1,150.
When this is useful
A client wants one number and you have an hour estimate you are willing to stand behind.
Limits
The hour estimate is yours. The calculator cannot see the scope. Margin is not profit after tax.
More on the assumptions is on how the calculators work.
Questions
Is contingency the same as margin?
No. Contingency covers extra labour. Margin is applied after expenses, on the whole subtotal.
