Record an expense

Enter an amount and choose a category. You can also add a note, a date and a payment method. That payment method is a note on the expense. The app does not take payments.

The history keeps those purchases together so you can look back over them.

Categories

The listing organises purchases into these categories:

  • Food & Drinks
  • Groceries
  • Shopping
  • Transport
  • Bills
  • Home
  • Health
  • Entertainment
  • Travel
  • Education
  • Subscriptions
  • Other

Monthly budget

The current app includes an overall monthly budget. As you record expenses, you can see how that spending compares with the limit you set.

Recurring expenses

You can keep regular costs together, such as subscriptions, memberships and household bills.

Spending insights

The app shows spending insights and a breakdown by category, so you can see where the month went.

On this device

The Play listing describes the app as private and offline-first. Expense records are stored on the device. No account is required, and the core tracking works without an internet connection.

The latest update says expenses, history, categories, the overall monthly budget, recurring expenses and backup stay on this device. You can back up those records and restore them.

Free and Pro

The free app shows a banner. Simple Expense Tracker Pro is an optional one-time purchase through Google Play, not a subscription.

Pro removes the banner. It also unlocks a CSV export, a custom range for insights, and category budgets.

It records what you spend. It does not give financial advice.

Ads and data

The Play listing says the app contains ads and includes in-app purchases. Its data-safety form says no data is shared with third parties and that no data is collected.
